چکیده
In this paper, a novel numerical methodology to deal with longitudinally invariant soil–structure interaction problems is proposed. The uses the finite element method model structure and singular boundary wave propagation in soil, both formulated wavenumber–frequency domain. versatility presented by combined simplicity computational efficiency of results friendly, robust accurate address problems. accuracy proposed assessed comparing it against 2.5D FEM–MFS FEM–BEM approaches for two cases: thin cylindrical shell star-like beam structure, embedded full-space medium. Moreover, evaluated methods. final step, applicability studied through an example railway tunnel layered half-space. work exhibit advantages approach modelling simplicity, robustness respect previous methodologies.

Coupled BE-FE Scheme for Three-Dimensional Dynamic Interaction of a Transversely Isotropic Half-Space with a Flexible Structure
The response of structures bonded to the surface of a transversely isotropic half-space (TIHS) under the effect of time-harmonic forces is investigated using a coupled FE-BE scheme. To achieve this end, a Finite Element program has been developed for frequency domain analysis of 3D structures, as the first step. The half-space underlying the structure is taken into consideration using a Boundar...
متن کاملA smoothed coupled NS/nES-FEM for dynamic analysis of 2D fluid-solid interaction problems
A node-based smoothed finite element method (NS-FEM-T3) using triangular elements and a n-sided polygonal edge-based smoothed FEM (nES-FEM) using polygonal elements is combined to give the smoothed coupled NS/nES-FEM for dynamic analysis of twodimensional (2D) fluid–solid interaction problems based on the pressure–displacement formulation. In the present method, the NS-FEM-T3 is used for the fl...
متن کاملA dynamic programming approach for solving nonlinear knapsack problems
Nonlinear Knapsack Problems (NKP) are the alternative formulation for the multiple-choice knapsack problems. A powerful approach for solving NKP is dynamic programming which may obtain the global op-timal solution even in the case of discrete solution space for these problems. Despite the power of this solu-tion approach, it computationally performs very slowly when the solution space of the pr...
متن کاملComputational models for multi-scale coupled dynamic problems
In this paper we describe a systematic methodology for the construction of computational models for coupled multi-scale dynamic problems with a major focus given to a case study example related to the design of shape memory alloy actuators controlled by thermoelectric effect. From a mathematical point of view, the problem in hand is a coupled dynamic system of partial differential equations whi...
متن کاملDynamic Mediation for Removing Language Comprehension Problems: A Psychological Support for Listening Comprehension Mental Processing
Dynamic Assessment is an approach to assessment within Applied Linguistics which is stemmed from Vygotsky’s Socio-Cultural Theory of mind, his concept of Zone of Proximal Development and Feuerstein's theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability. This study is an attempt to pinpoint the sources of mental processing problems in listening comprehension and applies dynamic interventions to remove t...
